Since 2008, MSUFCU has supported programming in the arts that has advanced career readiness, provided opportunities for students to work with high-caliber artists, offered lifelong learning programs in the performing arts and supported residency programs for artists and scholars. ![]() MSUFCU is one of MSU’s largest funders, investing more than $30 million over its history, half of which has gone to support the arts. “Pay It Forward is an impactful and important Credit Union tradition and, as we celebrate its tenth year, we are pleased to support local businesses, local heroes, and our members in the communities we serve.” In total, MSUFCU employees volunteered 128 hours during the week.“To commemorate our anniversary each year, we look forward to spreading kindness in our communities and donating to individuals and causes selected by our employees,” said Susi Elkins, Chief Community Impact Officer of MSUFCU. In total, 1,500 five dollar gift cards – a total of $7,500 in gift cards –supporting 23 local businesses were distributed.Local Heroes: MSUFCU employees nominated and selected local heroes, individuals working to make positive improvements in their community, who each received $500 to help further their impact.Jodi Schrader,Saved by ZadeMelissa Keck,Warrior Girl Strong ProjectVolunteer Challenge: MSUFCU challenged its employees to collectively volunteer 85 hours in the community during Pay It Forward week, either independently or by making cards for local hospital patients and caregivers as a group. Gift Card Giveaway: MSUFCU surprised members who visited their branches with gift cards to various Local Loyalty partners and other local businesses. As a result, the Campus 2 Career program’s intern to full-time position conversation rate is 19%. The program removes typical barriers in place for selecting candidates, such as restrictions on job experience or professional skills, instead prioritizing candidates with an interest in learning and exploring career paths.
